Question of the day
Let students prepare a question about the lecture material (in pairs). The ‘question of the day’ requires short explanations, annotations, calculations, or drawings that develop communication skills as well as higher-level thinking. This excercise can be done at the beginning of a class through the whole course and prepared at home.
On-campus
The activity takes about 0-10 minutes to complete and could be done with more than 60 students in an on-campus setting.
Students prepare the question at home, making it a blended learning activity.

Set-up Classroom
A simple classroom set-up, such as a U-shape or rows is sufficiënt.
Step 1. (Preparation)
A schedule has to be made about which en when student(s) have to hand-in their ‘question of the day’.
Step 2. (During Class)
Inform students during the first tutorial session about the activity. Present the schedule and propose the way they have to hand in their questions and answers (e.g. by mailing). Optionally, you could let them create an own Wooclap presentation.
Step 3. (During Class)
The teacher or the students themself present the question to the group at the next tutorial sessions. Other students answer the questions.
Step 4. (Evaluation)
The answers are discussed in a plenary discussion. This could be led by the teacher or the students themself. Provide key-notes to take home.
