Comproved

Comproved is an online platform that allows you to use comparative assessment. That means you can compare submitted work with each other. You can use Comproved both for teacher feedback of assessments, as well as for peer feedback.

The tool uses a specific assessment method, comparing two student assignments. These assignments can be reports, for example, or they can be audio or video files. When comparing, the teachers (or students, in the case of peer feedback) first assess the quality of one work compared to the other. Then the teachers (or students) give further feedback, if necessary, using the pre-established questions and criteria. It is also possible for students, upon handing in their assignment, to formulate a feedback question on a section on which they would like feedback.

Comparative assessment results are more reliable and valid, compared to a traditional assessment method. This is because all submitted assignments are assessed multiple times, and by multiple assessors. This method of assessment takes less time. A comparison takes many times less time than grading a submitted work.

The result of all comparisons in Comproved is a ranking in which the position of a student in relation to his peers becomes clear. As a teacher, you only have to grade two submitted works. Based on the ranking, the grade for all other assignments is calculated automatically. Subjectivity plays less of a role in the assessment this way.
